The Essence Festival of Culture announced Janet Jackson will perform at its event in New Orleans July 4-7.
The festival just announced on May 1 the lineup will feature a showcase of Birdman & Friends, which will honor 30 years of Cash Money Millionaires.
The upcoming event will be the festival's 30th. It debuted in New Orleans as a celebration of Essence magazine's 25th anniversary.
Jackson has been a popular performer at Essence Fest. Her last appearance at the event in 2022 filled the Superdome. This will be her fourth time performing at Essence. She will be on tour with Nelly this summer.
Bryan "Birdman" Williams cofounded the Cash Money label, which included artists like Lil Wayne, Juvenile and Manny Fresh. The lineup for the Essence celebration has not been revealed.
