NEWEST ORLEANIANS BREAKFAST. Anne Rice’s St. Elizabeth Orphanage Museum, 1314 Napoleon Ave., 561-0247. New Orleans 24/7 presents this semiannual event to welcome all new residents of New Orleans. Mayor Marc Morial will welcome new residents with a breakfast and a chance to learn about city services and get information on cultural, civic and nonprofit organizations. Registration required. Free admission. 8:30 a.m.

FINE ARTS SUMMER CAMP. Richard Thomas Visual Jazz Art Gallery, 2337 St. Claude Ave., 949-9822. New Orleans artist and gallery owner Richard C. Thomas opens his studio to area youth interested in receiving an intense learning experience in art. Registration limited. Classes start June 11. Students encouraged to bring portfolios and sample of work at registration. Admission $500, scholarships available. Registration 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

"Angel Hop Dance" to help raise money for the children of Angels’ Place, a non-profit community service organization that provides services and assistance to seriously and terminally ill children and their families. COMMUNITY THEATER SUMMER DAY CAMP. NORD/Anthony Bean Community Theater, 1333 S. Carrollton Ave., 299-4170. Children ages 8-16 can learn the basics of theater, stage and acting in this seven-week cultural arts camp. Enrollment open to first 100 children, who must be residents of Orleans Parish. Parents must provide valid ID and child’s birth certificate. Registration $10 per child. Registration 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

BIKE RODEO. East Jefferson General Hospital, Auditorium, Metairie, 456-5000. Kids up to age 13 are invited to bring their bikes and learn about bike safety while having fun. Representatives from the New Orleans Regional Bike Awareness Committee will check bikes and adjust helmets for safety. Admission $15 per child (includes helmet). 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

FLEA-FOR-ALL. Double "M" Feed, Garden & Pet Supply, 3212 W. Esplanade Ave., Metairie, 733-7387. Jefferson Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals hosts this dog wash for man’s best friend. Dogs get a wash and some freebies, too. Proceeds fund Jefferson SPCA programs. Admission $10. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WELLNESS EXPO. Lakeside Shopping Center, 3301 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Third annual Wellness Expo showcases exercise demonstrations, free health screenings, healthy cooking demonstrations, prizes and much more. Free admission. 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

NEW ORLEANS WORST FILM FESTIVAL. Ben Franklin Theatre, 2001 Leon C. Simon Blvd., 895-3317. New Orleans Film Festival presents the 11th annual look at the "best of the worst." Admission $7 adults ($12 with T-shirt), $3 children ($8 with T-shirt). Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Opening ceremony at noon, and first film shows at 12:05 p.m.

INTERNATIONAL BEER TASTING. New Orleans Fairgrounds, 1751 Gentilly Blvd., 486-5511. The 18th Annual International Beer Tasting event offers more than 150 foreign, domestic and non-alcoholic beers for sampling. Vendors include the Acadian Brewing Company, Brew Ha-Ha, Crescent City Brewhouse and Abita Brewing Company. Tickets available at WYES studios and both locations of Martin Wine Cellar. Tickets $25 in advance, $30 at door,
$20 seniors and groups of 10 or more. 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

SINGLES DANCE. The Alexander Room, 3200 Ridgelake Drive, Metairie, 887-9932. St. Clement of Rome sponsors this dance for singles with DJ Mark Sanders. Strict dress code. Tickets $8 at door. 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

KEEP YOUR GARDENS GREEN. Crescent City Farmers Market, 700 Magazine St., 861-5898. Drip irrigation specialist Chris Olah will explain drip irrigation technology for gardeners. Free admission. 8 a.m. to noon.

COPELAND’S BRUNCH RUN. City Park, Roosevelt Mall. Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro hosts this 5K run through City Park. Race begins at Roosevelt Mall and finishes in Tad Gormley stadium. Admission $15 through June 8, $16 day of race. 6:30 a.m. registration, 8 a.m. race. For more info, call 524-2637.

WEDDINGS FOR THE SOUTHERN BRIDE. Audubon Tea Room, Audubon Zoo, 894-0818. Louisiana traditions are front and center at this bridal show with wedding experts, musicians, dress designers, photographers and other vendors. Wedding cake, refreshments, cash bar and wedding specialty samples will be available. Admission $10 at door. 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

ONCE UPON A VINE VII. City Park, Pavilion of the Two Sisters, 899-7411. Martin Wine Cellar hosts its 7th annual wine tasting event where guests have the chance to sniff, swirl and sip more than 200 fine wines from around the world. Sample an array of culinary creations and cheeses to complement wine selections. Tickets $50 per person, advance purchase only. 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
