Italian Wine Dinner in Kenner

Posted by Ian McNulty on Thu, Oct 11, 2007 at 5:08 PM

Ristorante da Piero (401 Williams Blvd., 469-8585; www.ristorantedapiero.net) is my favorite restaurant in the area for pasta (check out my full review from June). The strozzapreti (literally "priest choker") pasta is worth a trip to Kenner all on its own.

Next Wednesday, Oct. 17, chef Paolo Cenni will be showing off some of his kitchen's other chops with an elaborate wine dinner backed up by

Republic National Distributing Co., one of the nation's largest liquor and wine distributors. The company has deep local ties and is sending along its Italian wine specialist, Antonio Molesini, as guest speaker for the dinner.

The menu looks intriguing. The price is $90 per person and the meal runs through five courses plus an amuse bouche, each paired with an Italian wine. The evening begins with a round of aperitifs at 6:30 p.m. Call 469-8585 for reservations.
