One of my favorite blogs is by a New York City club bouncer who goes by the pseudonym Rob the Bouncer. He seems to like the literary-brute schtick of being a hired thug at nightclubs in Chelsea and New Yorks Meat Packing District and blogging about the bad behavior that he polices. For several years, the blog has been a great source of glib pseudo-anthropological posts on how Guidos dance and why the worst fights always break out in the womens restrooms. Rob seems to enjoy ridiculing the clientele as much as he likes manhandling the ones earning a quick trip to the sidewalk.
Fashion 101: Fashion normally follows two paths. There's the trickle-down theory, where the top designers such as Galliano, Ford and Lagerfeld set the stage for the seasons trends, and their styles eventually trickle from the runway to high-end stores to Banana Republic down to Target.
On the other side there is a trickle-up theory, where designers get their inspiration straight from the streets (imagine Gwen Stefanis L.A.M.B. line, hip-hop style of the '80s or even the grunge look in the '90s).
Weekend to-do: You may have missed Fashion Week in Paris and New York this year, but it is not too late to buy tickets ($20) to Fashion in the Park this Saturday, Oct. 12, at Sophie B. Wright Park (corner of Camp and Magazine streets).
LSU
Many are calling tomorrow's LSU game at Kentucky a "trap" game as it's sandwiched in between Florida and Auburn. Mostly, though, it's because of the way the Tigers won last week, putting all its effort into willing out a win against the Gators. I'm hoping the Tigers don't get trapped in Lexington.
Here are your keys to the game for the Tigers:
1) Containing Kentucky QB Andre Woodson.
Woodson is getting a ton of hype from many at ESPN and others around the country and is currently being considered as
