... if you qualify. Last week, The Louisiana Family Recovery Corps announced they are offering one-time financial assistance for rental deposits and payments, utility deposits and the purchase of furniture or other appliances through the Household Establishment Fund program. The HEF program is available to families whose annual household income falls

below 300 percent of the Federal Poverty Line. In order to qualify residents must be working a minimum of 24 hours per week and currently live in Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson or Orleans parish; and have a pre-storm address in one of the hurricane-affected parishes.

To set up an appointment, call 1-800-333-3104. Appointments will be held starting October 29. Residents must demonstrate initial eligibility by providing information about income and address over the phone and then provide all of the required documentation at their appointment, which includes a valid id, birth certificate, FEMA documentation and number, most recent paycheck stub and a lease and utility bill in their name.
