Why live in New Orleans? The food, the culture and well, there is a party or two every weekend. And usually every party supports a good cause. New Orleans might have more 501c3's per capita compared to any other city in the world, and there is probably a positive correlation between the number of parties hosted and the number of organizations formed.
Our parties have a purpose, and our support of a good cause can usually be swayed by a premier event.
Tomorrow (Saturday, November 10th) nights event is a "no-brainer". Crimestoppers is hosting their annual Carnival, at the most festive venue in the city, Mardi Gras World.
Over 40 local restaurants and more than 200 live and silent auction items (i.e Saints Tickets, a Navarre Beach Vacation Package, Walt Disney World Park tickets, video surveillance equipment from CCTV) will be featured.
This past week a person was shot on St. Charles Ave, a car-jacking occured near Carrolton and St. Charles and most likely a few murders took place. Tragically, Crimestoppers is the "it" NGO to support in town.
Tickets to the event are $75, check out the Crimestoppers website for more information.
