As We Could Be Famous pointed out, presidential candidate John McCain is a little confused about his Katrina votes. When a reporter asked McCain if he supported an 8/29 commission, similar to the 9/11 Commission, that would fully investigate the levee failures, he replied that hes supported every investigation and ways of finding out what caused the tragedy.
When McCain visited the Lower Ninth Ward in late April, he vowed to continue funding the recovery effort and to learn the lessons of Katrina and vow that never again, never again will we experience such mishandling of a natural disaster and the suffering that ensued from it.
So where does he stand on this natural disaster and an 8/29 commission?
Sandy Rosenthal, founder and executive director of Levees.org, doesnt think he knows about it. As for his voting record on this issue, Rosenthal suggests McCain should learn more about the commission.
He sounded confused to me, Rosenthal says. He could never have voted for the 8/29 Commission because its never been on the Senate floor.
On a positive note, Rosenthal adds that Congressman Charlie Melancons office recently called her and has agreed to introduce to the House a bill for the 8/29 Commission.

I don't think it was McCain that was confused, but the reporter. The reporter was the one who said McCain voted against this this bill (twice) that didn't even make it to the floor.
Senator McCain has been spending too much time with his buddy, GW; he is getting confused by all of the high level "strategery"! Last week, in a secret all-day meeting, the prez and 500 top-level Republicans met with McCain and raised $3.5 million for his campaign. The US electorate has a clear choice here: if we want a similar response to national disasters as we had on 8/29/05, we know who to vote for. Barack 'n Roll, enlightened citizens of NOLA!
