To hell with that. We've been scrupulous whenever we cite the T-P (and, largely, complimentary about the many excellent reporters there). "In his recently blogged essay "The Cone of Insanity," my friend Mike Gio tackles this vocabularic phenomenon...." Not even a proper attribution to the website, but he can't even use your name??? Man, that's salty.
down boy. he had my permission to refer to me as 'mikegio'. he's been calling me that for a long time, in and out of print.
Naturally I'm pleased he recognized your talent, but the T-P is going to have to get over pretending that Gambit doesn't exist...to the point of not even crediting BONO? (That may not be Chris' doing, but fiat from Up High at the T-P.) I'm glad you're cool with it, but like I said...salty.
ok y'all, there's a personal component to all this that's being overlooked. i was given the choice of attribution as Mike Gio or my full name and I chose Mike Gio. as this blog entry indicates, the lack of attribution for blogofneworleans is what deserves attention.
Funny. Tonight my rabbi quoted this column at services. She said it was a Chris Rose riff on "a blogger". I instantly turned to my companions and said, "Yeah, from Gambit's Blog of New Orleans!" Nice to be "in the know" but more people need to be there. Oh and we all know what Chris Rose is: http://librarychronicles.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html#114296253707148854
