Gambit boys in the city doing fine

Just got a text message from Gambit staff writers David Winkler-Schmit and Noah Bonaparte Pais, who are riding out the storm in the city. Power and Internet are out, but they say they are fine and will post here when they can.
And they added that Buffa's on Esplanade is open for business.

I do not live in your neighbourhood, but I got up this morning hearing of snow just about 70 miles from here in Banff, Alberta. I promised after watching you all survive Katrina that I would stop complainning about that which I have no control over. My heart goes out to you and I hope you all stay safe. I do have a question,(not a criticisim) why do people live in these areas when they know huricannes are going to return every year? I truly do not understand. If you can enlighten me, please do. Again.........stay safe.
