Split Peabody?

No, not for you, Charlie Gibson, and your pet Muppet, Mr. Stephanopoulupagus. The shared award for excellence in electronic media should go out (god help us) to Joy Behar, Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg and Co., who righteously gave John McCain the panini treatment on Friday's The View. Their surprisingly harsh interrogation ranked among the strongest responses yet to the McCain campain's recent parade of patently false advertisements, the most egregious of which transmogrified proposed legislation that Barack Obama supported as an Illinois state senator — including school programs that would have taught to kindergartners techniques for warding off predators — into "comprehensive sex education" for 5-year-olds. McCain's shameful ad has been called out by the mainstream media and nonpartisan watchdogs alike* as an overt distortion of the original bill's intent, and when asked by Behar whether he really approves such slanderous messages, the senator all but acknowledged as much. "Have you seen some of the ads that are running against me?" McCain parried. Sadly, somewhere along the treacherous campaign trail, it seems the Straight Talk Express was broadsided by the He Started It Bandwagon.
*UPDATE: Not to mention Sunday, in fine takes-one-to-know-one fashion, by this guy. Irony, thy name is Rove.
