Last years event was a huge success and Week One is already filled- The St. Bernard Project and The Women's Leadership Council of United Way are still looking for a few good women to participate in Womens' Rebuild Week in St. Bernard Parish from October 13-18.
The St. Bernard Project, in partnership with the Womens Leadership Council of United Way for the Greater New Orleans Area, is hosting a two-week long Womens Rebuild. Kicking off at 8:30 a.m. Monday, October 6, Womens Rebuild volunteers will rebuild twenty five families homes. Volunteers will participate in all phases of the rebuilding work including hanging insulation and sheetrock, painting, flooring, and installing cabinets, trimming, doors and windows. By the end of the Womens Rebuild, twenty five more families will be two weeks closer to moving out of their FEMA trailers and back into their homes. The two organizations are actively recruiting more than 500 women volunteers to participate in the two week build. Although the event is targeting women volunteers, men are encouraged to participate as well.If you are unable to work during the week, the organization is also encouraging women to volunteer on Saturday, October 24th
