In which I take all the best news, quotes, pictures and everything else Saints-related toss it together and serve it up for our readers. This week we’ll be tackling the Saints (3–3) week 7 matchup against the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte. After wiping the Dome floor with the Raiders last week, the Saints go on an extended road trip which takes them through Carolina and all the way to London. Let's take a look at them pesky cats, shall we?

  • Best Non-Game-Related Storyline to Follow: Are Saints fans the best/most devoted/nerdiest in the NFL? Me thinks yes. And when I say "nerdiest", I mean it as the highest form of compliment. After all, with all the extreme cooking, tricked-out tailgaiting and elaborate costumes devoted to video games and cartoons, I'm starting to think that covering Saints fans may be more interesting that covering the Saints players. I'm anxious to see how they represent the Black and Gold in Charlotte (and London, for that matter).
  • Best Media Blowhard to Make Fun of: ESPN's John Clayton for his 7-weeks-late decision to jump on the "Drew Brees for MVP" bandwagon. I'll say it one more time. Drew Brees: Best. Quaterback. In. The. League. (Props to AOL Fanhouse for proclaiming that Brees will "pwn" the MVP award back in August).

  • Best Random Piece of Saints Merchandise: New Orleans Saints Fleur de lis Etched Pill Box. Because nothing proclaims your Saints' die-hard fandom than a fleur de lis etched pill box filled with enough medication to make any Saints loss just numb away.
  • Best Local Artist to Listen to Before/After the Game: I've menioned them before but they're worth using again: Morning 40 Federation. If only because the Saints are going to be away from the Dome for three weeks starting on Sunday and, really, is there any other reason to bury yourself in 40 oz. malt liquer bottles and chili cheese fries?
