Why Are We Building Such A Big Ship? sets sail with new album

The sprawling, hypnotic junkyard-jazz ensemble Why Are We Building Such A Big Ship (seen above at ChazFest '07) will play tomorrow evening at Domino Sound Record Shack at 2557 Bayou Road at Broad Street, to celebrate the vinyl release of their second album. The record, No Blood No Blooms, comes out on the shop's own Domino Sound Records. The show starts at 7 p.m.; Why Are We Building Such A Big Ship? also perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Candle Factory warehouse at Japonica and N. Robertson Streets, with Japanther (previewed by Alex Woodward in this week's Gambit) and at 4:30 p.m. Sunday on the NooMoon stage at the Voodoo Music Experience
