Visitors to downtown can get a glimpse of Canal Street in the 1950s in a special photo exhibition hosted by the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel. A fashion and portrait photographer for Vogue Magazine, Jack Robinson took pictures of Canal Street when it was a grand thoroughfare. The show includes more than 50 of his downtown street scenes. The opening reception is at 5 p.m.- 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in advance of the opening of Prospect.1 this weekend. The show will be up for six weeks in the hotel lobby. The opening reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
