Just read through the dead tree edition today. Clancy's politics article was great except for one point: the Louisiana Democratic party is a loser, not a winner. Cazayous and Harlan losses cancel out an Obama victory and Mary won despite the state party, not because of. Obama and Mary kept it from being a total rout. The rest of the election was a disaster. Going through the list, you even have Cleo Fields' personal grievances over the party's best interest. The last election they actually mattered (at least positively, not as an anchor) was Blanco/Jindal. The state party is rudderless ship, filled with loose cannons and bereft of a captain.
