One-Sheet To The Wind, Nude Sushi Edition

This week’s adventurous press release is a real doozie: From 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. tomorrow, Hoshun and Whiskey Blue bring you … Nyotaimori, Japanese for “Watch where you’re putting those chopsticks, buster.” Who’s up for some lukewarm uni served off an uncomfortable girl from Kenner’s gooseflesh? Yum.

That flyer forgot the 'Retro' in the tagline naked sushi is so, like, cutting edge dining Los Angeles style circa 1995. Ancient Japanese Art form my A** (with slices of maguro, hamachi and saba on top of course).

Nyotaimori means "served atop a woman" in Japanese. A nude woman, usually a model, lays atop a platform or table dressed only with leaves in strategic places; bare breasts are acceptable in some locations. Sushi is served atop the model, using the leaves as serving plates. The leaves are necessary to insulate the sushi from the model's body heat, which would warm it up and spoil its quality if it takes too long before it's eaten. The leaves are optional depending on the party.
