Alejandro here, we sent Clay off to meet the Utes at Louis Armstrong International Airport and he filed this report, including taking all these pretty pictures.
The undefeated University of Utah (12-0) packed their game faces with them on their flight to the Crescent City despite a frosty departure from Salt Lake International. The teams charter flight was delayed an hour because of a storm that blanketed Utah with over two feet of snow.
The Utes arrived at noon at Lois Armstrong International and seemed relieved to be on solid ground after having braved temperatures as low as twenty two degrees on their sixteen hundred mile trek. They were greeted by a traditional New Orleans reception that featured a local brass band and several representatives from the Sugar Bowl committee- Utahs team was quickly ushered off their plane and past a flock of various photographers and media representatives and onto their shuttles.
Coach Kyle Whittingham appeared relaxed and ready to prepare for the upcoming Sugar Bowl against a fourth-ranked Alabama team that, for the moment, can enjoy a fortuitous a geographical advantage.
