Reason #3519873 to love Chris Paul: He will make opposing teams' fans pay for heckling him.
It turns out that during last night's game against the Indiana Pacers, CP3 got heckled a bit by a Pacer fan for his (up to that point) quiet performance. Well, as the Pacer fan puts it, Paul was none too happy about it.
The Ps had a solid lead and CP wasnt showing up much directly on offense, missing several jumpers. He came to check in at around 3:36, and I was in complete Pacers mode. Without thinking, I murmured, CP aint shit. He quickly turned around and said, What? High off the fact that he even acknowledged me, I said, Yeah, youre lucky T.J.s (Ford) not playing. He replied, Yeah, I prayed for that last night, and rolled his eyes and laughed. I was in complete disarray, and said to the man that I had so passionately spoken in MVP support for last year: You shouldnt have been mentioned for MVP last year, Kobe is way better than you. He laughed and walked off. My friend gave me the what have you done look.
Well, the rest is history. Paul scored 11 minutes in the final three-plus minutes of last night's game and had that beautiful dish to David West for the game-winner. Not only that, but the Paul made sure the Pacer fan knew he was the cause of his offensive outburst.
CP went over, took a photo with someone, then walked in my direction. I stood up. He stopped directly in front of the scorers table and, pointing a solid finger, and said in LeBron fashion, Its your fault. Its your fault. My legs began to shake as my star crush walked away.
Just goes to show that if you mess with Chris Paul, he will rip your heart out and show it to you as it stops beating (metaphorically speaking).
