Antonio Daniels is certainly fitting in well

In case you haven't noticed, the Hornets are 8–1 in games that Antonio Daniels has played in since he came to New Orleans. And while he's not putting up monster stats, he's playing steady, efficient basketball and, more importantly, running the offense and getting his teammates the ball.

-

Oh, and he's also doing silly trick shots (video below), which means he completely fits in with his Hornets' teammates.

-

But tonight the Hornets will be matching up against the Lakers in Los Angeles. A team that has completely decimated the Hornets on two separate occasions this year. The one caveat? A.D. did not play in either game (he was still playing with the Wizards during the first one and he sat out the second one with an injury). The Lakers are arguably the most talented team in the league, a fact not lost on Hornets players, and New Orleans will need strong play from its bench tonight to have a chance.

-

Enter Antonio Daniels. No, he's not going to drop 25 points on anybody and he's certainly not going to go Chris Paul on the Lakers and notch a triple-double. But he can provide stability at the point, avoid turnovers and make sure his teammates get the ball in good scoring situations. There are a million factors that will come into play tonight (how the Hornets big men deal with the Lakers' Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum, David West having a good game and Chris Paul being Chris Paul) but a key tonight will definitely be the play of Daniels and the bench.

-

After two embarrassing losses to this team, you have to wonder if the Hornets will be able to get over the hump. If they don't at least stay competitive, I won't be the first to say that the Hornets probably won't be able to get past L.A. in the playoffs.

If only silly shots taken after the whistle counted, the Hornets would be undefeated.
