Do you love Carnival on film? Of course you do. The revelry, the spectacle, the lack of party juice on your shoes (well, ever since Movie Pitchers closed, anyway). From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, at the decidedly cleaner Studio at Colton, Creative Industry presents screenings of Mardi Gras documentaries from five local filmmakers: Rebecca Snedeker (By Invitation Only), Chappy Hardy (Chappy Goes to Mardi Gras), Dawn Logsdon (Faubourg Tremé: The Untold Story of Black New Orleans), Royce Osborn (All On a Mardi Gras Day) and Lisa Katzman (Tooties Last Suit, pictured). (Light in April by Justine Malle, the daughter of Louis Malle, also screens.) Knock out the cultural side of Carnival now, and you're free to pee in the street with no remorse later.
