GW Fins Expansion Folds

The gloom of the national economy seems to have claimed another casualty, this time the expansion plans of GW Fins.
In September 2007, owners of the upscale French Quarter seafood restaurant opened a second location in Charlotte, N.C. But earlier in January they pulled the plug, after about 15 months in business.
A note from managing partner and co-owner Gary Wollerman posted the restaurant's Web site says GW Fins Charlotte has shut down permanently, explaining simply that "given the current times we felt it prudent to close the restaurant."
The French Quarter restaurant is open for dinner nightly, and in his note Wollerman invited Charlotte patrons to visit the original GW Fins on their next trip to New Orleans.
