Yes, good political scandals happen outside of Louisiana...

Blago's back! And this morning, he opted to sit down with the ladies of The View rather than go to his own impeachment trial....

Gov. Rod Blagojevich popped up all over television Monday morning, quoting Rudyard Kipling and laughing it up with the hosts of The View, even as he resisted their request to do a Nixon impersonation.

“Wait a minute, he does a fabulous Nixon impression,” said Joy Behar, one of the hosts, smiling and jabbing her finger into the governor’s shoulder. “Do it for us.”

With the audience erupting into laughter, she added, “Come on, just say, ‘I am not a crook!’?” Mr. Blagojevich declined.

Elsewhere, he stayed busy comparing himself to Nelson Mandela, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi. Next up for Blago: an appearance on tonight's Larry King Live. At this rate, he'll be a guest judge on American Idol in no time.

Meanwhile, if you have not been following the travails of Sam Adams, the mayor of Portland, Ore., now would be a good time to start. The details have the Pacific Northwest in a swivet, as they involve a now-45-year-old mayor, a then-18-year-old state legislative aide named (seriously) Beau Breedlove, a stolen kiss inside a Portland City Hall bathroom, a reporter who had some knowledge of the story getting a shiny new job as the mayor's aide, a Friday night rally in support of the mayor at which supporters handed out stickers that said "Let's make better mistakes tomorrow," and the now-21-year-old Mr. Breedlove showing up for an interview with The Oregonian in the company of his dog, which happens to be named "Lolita".

The mayor is very sorry:

And, suddenly, Louisiana politics seem rather dull by comparison.
