Anyone who's ever wondered just how good the New Orleans Hornets would be without Chris Paul will now get a chance to see. Paul went down with a right groin strain in the third quarter of tonight's 9789 loss against the Portland Trailblazers. Though the severity of the strain is not known, groin strains can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to two months to heal. This almost certainly means that Paul will not be playing in the NBA All-Star game on Feburary 15th.
If there's any doubt as to the impact Paul's absence will have on his team, look no further than the fact that the hornets led by 15 when CP3 exited the game. With Paul out of the game, the Trailblazers out-scored the Hornets 4015 in the final quarter-plus-1:30.
I'll be back with more analysis after everyone talks to the press.
God's speed, Rodrigue
