Remember back in January when we talked to Wendell Pierce at a Hornets game and the conversation touched on him filming a pilot for the HBO series "Treme"? Or perhaps you noticed that blurb under his picture on our report on Chris Paul's shoe release party. The one where Pierce talks about working with series creator David Simon. Well, in case you forgot, here are those quotes again:
-
From the game post: "Pierce, a New Orleans native, is getting ready to start shooting the new HBO series Treme set in the neighborhood of the same name. ... Pierce didnt get his big break until he starred in HBOs acclaimed series The Wire. If you have any doubts about HBOs seriousness in making a successful series based in New Orleans, take heart in the fact that it will feature many of the same people from The Wire including the shows creator.
From the shoe release party: "... the new HBO show hes filming down here, Treme. Pierce had some encouraging things to say about the pilot:
David [Simon, the show's creator] has the sensibility of character that a lot of folks dont have. And he can come to a city and really identify something thats really unique. I think hes tapped into that. The one thing, if we dont make it, it wont be for the fact that were not authentic. Well be very authentic.

I just wanted to point out that, while we didn't have stories that were specifically about "Treme", we did have not one, but two posts that included pertinent details about the show. And I only point that out because the Times-Picayune's television finally wrote up a story about the possible series last night.
