Mayor Nagin will deliver a keynote address today at the Illinois Faith-Based Emergency Preparedness Initiative's Town Hall Luncheon Meeting in Springfield, Illinois. Nagins topic will be Lessons Learned from Hurricane Katrina and the Role that Faith-Based Organizations Can Play.
The mayor will also serve as a panelist at the meeting, and he will be given a tour of the Illinois State Emergency Operations Center, a facility designed to bring all appropriate decision makers together in an emergency to allow for streamlined communication and efficient decision making.
Nagin will return to New Orleans on Wednesday.
