The New Orleans Healing Center at 2372 St. Claude Ave. hosts an open house and previews its St. Claude/St. Roch Revitalization Project, with opening remarks from Sen. Mary Landrieu, this Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Check out the center's programs, from its rooftop garden and performance hall to its food co-op.
Also this Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the HandsOn New Orleans Tool Lending Library opens as the city's first tool co-op, with more than 4,800 tools for planting, building, painting and fixing. For $10 a month or $100 a year, co-op members can check-out tools from the library at 1204 S. White St., open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Tulane University announced another set of plans for greening its campus. The 86-year-old Dinwiddie Hall home to a $15 million collection of Mexican, Central American and African art and artifacts is undergoing a 14-month renovation project for LEED certification, including plans for water and energy efficiency, additional green space, air quality improvements and more.
