They'll be sorry when the porn industry moves from the San Fernando Valley to Shreveport

The AP's keeping an eye on the last days of the session in Baton Rouge...

A Senate-passed bill to try to prohibit state movie tax credits for the production of pornographic films in Louisiana was killed by a House committee in a 7-4 vote.

Officials with the state film office said no such movies have applied for tax credits and their production costs typically do not meet the $300,000 threshold to qualify for the benefit.

Several members of the Ways and Means Committee said they appreciated Sen. A.G. Crowe's goal but thought the structure of Senate Bill 343 was unclear and might confuse or deter some nonpornographic movie makers.
