With a month to go before the beginning of the third season of Mad Men, the multiple Golden Globe and Emmy winning cable series about a Madison Avenue advertising firm and the changing social mores of the early 1960s, Lions Gate has released a season two box set on dvd and Blu-Ray. The set includes the seasons 13 episodes, cast and crew commentary on all episodes and features about the shows themes and context. One feature examines womens advancement in the work place and increasing social independence in the 60s. Other features look at the styles and influential news events of era. Mad Men features New Orleans native Bryan Batt as Salvatore Romano, the firms art director and a closeted gay man negotiating changing social attitudes about homosexuality. The new season begins August 16 on AMC.
