Expletive demanded

OK, we'll admit it -- an informal survey around the Gambit office revealed a wide disparity of opinion about comic Lisa Lampanelli, who is billed as "Comedy's Lovable Queen of Mean" and will be appearing in New Orleans Sept. 19. Let's just say it's not an all-ages show; she makes Don Rickles sound like Red Skelton. As Lampanelli told the Riverside Press-Enterprise earlier this year:

Here's the deal. They want to come to the show, they want to be insulted. If they don't, go see Rita Rudner or some other (expletive).

Lampanelli (a former journalist!) will be appearing, ironically enough, at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts Sept. 19; you can get your presale tickets here.

Cover your ears, Miss Mahalia.

If you have any questions at all about whether you'd enjoy a Lisa Lampanelli show, ask yourself this question: "Do I enjoy hearing the c-word fifty times in an hour?" If your answer is "no," then you need to stay home.

Don't worry! I'll be home. She is vile.
