The old Coffea address in the Bywater is now the new Satsuma Café (3218 Dauphine St., 304-5962), a coffee shop, juice bar and casual breakfast and lunch spot with a focus on healthy eating.
First-time restaurateurs Peter and Cassi Dymond opened Satsuma Café over the weekend, and they plan to serve from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day except Tuesdays.
The café still looks a lot like Coffea, with its mismatched tables, big windows, side patio and exposed brick walls mounting contemporary canvases and assorted artsy bric-a-brac.
The turkey and avocado sandwich I had for lunch here was good, but it was the side salad that was really interesting. It had Boston lettuce, pea shoots, pumpkin seeds and peaches and plums, with a very light goat cheese dressing. The menu features a list of meal-sized salads like this.
I washed down lunch with a pint of freshly juiced carrot, celery and kale, which seemed to redeem a lot of poor nutritional choices from the past weekend.

Sounds good, as always can count on Ian to feret out the good stuff
I concur. This place is fabulous! It's just the kind of thing that's been missing from the ByWater, a clean, healthy, friendly cafe serving breakfast and lunch. Props to Satsuma.
I heart this place! Not only are the juices just what I've been missing lately, but they have some great vegan options, too.
