It's been a good 21-year run, but the lovingly shabby art-house cinema atop the luxury downtown mall officially loses its longtime operator tomorrow. A farewell note from Landmark's publicist this week hints at some lingering bitterness in the lease transfer: "This really saddens me because Landmark cared enough to return after Katrina. It was at great expense. It has taken awhile for the theatre to regain momentum just to be taken away from us. Well I guess all is fair in love and movies." Manager Brian Jones and your gumshoe mustache and fedora, I'll miss you most of all (until the opening day of Southern, anyway).
