Kids Essay Contest

A local parenting Web site, www.nolaParent.com, is teaming up with Cheley Colorado Camps to offer kids a chance to participate in an essay contest with the winner earning a four-week, summer camp session at Estes Park, Colorado. The competition is open to all children, ages 9-12 years old, in the Greater New Orleans area.
In 400 words or less, kids are asked to write an essay describing a situation in which they had a chance to demonstrate an act of love, unselfishness, honesty, determination or courage. What choice did they make and how did that decision make them feel? All entries must be submitted through the parenting resource Web site, and the deadline for submissions is October 12, 2009. The winner will be announced on October 26, and will receive a prize package which includes roundtrip airfare to Colorado and a first-term session, June 16-July 12, 2010, at the Cheley Camp.
