Where do you get your drivers' license?

I had Errand Day on Monday and went to get my drivers' license renewed -- went to the Mandeville DMV (about 2.5 miles off the Causeway) about 10:30 am, was third in line with about five clerks working, and was out the door with a brand-new license in under 10 minutes. Painless.
It got me wondering where other people go to avoid unnecessary DMV pain, so this morning we asked the question on our Twitter page. Here were some of the responses:
@atfree929 go to the abita springs DMV followed by a trip to the abita beer factory. 2 birds, one stone.@candicenonsense mandeville dmv always has short lines (I am up there a lot, though I live uptown that's where I do mine)
@LSURob311 Make a 25 min trek to Reserve and get one there. Rarely EVER any line. In and out in 20 min tops
@laurabergerol The Metairie office is usually best...go mid week & mid afternoon. Monday is NOT a good idea at these offices.
@DocCalvo At the toll plaza for the CCC Its way fast! Sittin in parkin lot now (EMT-P waitin 4 nxt 911 call-not a vagrant) & lot's empty
@cjblum if you want to pay the dollar, you can stay in the Parish and hit the CCC offices on the westbank, otherwise it's airline dr.
@ChefMarySonnier So...where's the best place to get a drivers license renewal in the NOLA metroplex? Under the Crescent City Connection
@jmdufrene dmv under the crescent city connection.
@KimAbramson I go to the Westbank for renewal, certain times of the day they aren't crowded - my last DL took 20 minutes. Take ins. card!
@akancher the one on airline highway was pretty quick when I went. 15min max when I was there, just go at an off peak time
Looks like the DMV under the Crescent City Connection is the "secret spot" for a lot of people. Any other ideas?

orleans parish brake tag tip. the joint across the street from the saturn bar on st. claude. used to be a gas station. nice friendly folks and never a wait. usually a 5 min. affair but one year there was a guy ahead of me and it took 10 min.
