Young Men Olympian 125th Anniversary Second Line Parade

Here’s a clip from Thursday’s YMO sponsored Peace Walk thru Central City – just a taste to tie you over till Sunday’s parade (see route and time below): Six bands, 5000+ parade-goers, and nine divisions of scores of Black men wearing proper suits, sashes, fans and dress shoes, dancing for four hours atop the hot, feet-ravaging busted streets of New Orleans like it's not a problem. THIS is why New Orleans didn't die, aint never gonna die. Mufkrz here are HARD CORE!

SECOND LINE PARADE SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2009 1-5pm

Parade Route

Start: 2101 South Liberty St. home of Young Men Olympian Junior Benevolent Association). Out South Liberty to Philip St. to Simon Bolivar Ave. Up Simon Bolivar to LaSalle Street. Out LaSalle to Washington Ave. Left on Washington Ave. to Dryades St. Down Dryades to Second St.

Stop: The Sportman's Lounge, 2433 Dryades. Back Second St. to Danneel St. to Third St.

Stop: Bean Brothers Corner. Up Danneel St. to Louisiana Avenue. Right on Louisiana. Down Louisiana Ave. to LaSalle St. Right on LaSalle St.

Stop: Mr. Jazzy Wings, 3228 LaSalle St. Down LaSalle St. to Washington Ave. Left on Washington Ave. to S. Claiborne Ave. Right on S. Claiborne to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Out MLK to Simon Bolivar. Right on Simon Bolivar to Jackson Ave. Right on Jackson Ave. to S. Liberty St. Right on S. Liberty St. to Josephine St.
