Two very different restaurants along Exchange Alley in the French Quarter join forces tonight for a common cause: rebuilding the New Canal Lighthouse on Lake Pontchartrain.
The Green Goddess will keep a fundraiser for the lighthouse going through the rest of October as well. The restaurant has pledged to donate $1 to the cause for every cocktail it sells this month made using vodka or gin from the California distillery Tru Organic Spirits. The liquor maker has also pledged to donate a portion of proceeds from retail sales in the New Orleans market to the lighthouse project.

Thanks for the article on our "Cocktails for the Lighthouse" party and ongoing campaign. Despite a very rainy & stormy start to the party, we drew a good crowd and raised around $500 for LPBF during our party. I'd like to thank our raffle partners: Dave from Uncorked Wines, Tru Organic Spirits, Obsello Absinthe, Fresh & Wild from Portland, OR, and Scott from International Wines for their generous gifts. Thus far, The Green Goddess has raised over $150 for the lighthouse repairs using Tru products. That's a good many cocktails from a small restaurant, and we encourage other bars and restaurants to join us in any small way to make a similar contribution toward fixing the New Canal Lighthouse. Every dollar counts, especially since we are so close to reaching the end zone and finally repairing this bright symbol for a healthy Lake Pontchartrain.
