"Barack Around the Clock." Groan. We know, we know. It could've been worse ("Barack This Town"? "Barack You Like a Hurricane"?). But the title of this week's cover story is actually accurate, as we look into the crazy week between the time President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize and when he came to New Orleans on Thursday for a brief visit....

Clancy DuBos looks at a couple of people who are eying the 2010 election, and wonders if we're finally getting a mayoral race here ...

Tales of Mid-City could've been the title of Barb Johnson's first book. Instead, she called it More of This World Or Maybe Another, and it's getting pre-publication raves. Noah Bonaparte Pais had drinks with Johnson, who had worked as a New Orleans carpenter for 20 years before putting down her hammer and picking up a pen....

Ian McNulty samples the tropically-influenced cuisine at the Rum House on Magazine Street....

All this, plus a couple of stage reviews, a preview of the Vampire Film Festival, our weekly picks, crossword, Sudoku and oh-so-much more. Join us on the newsstand on Sunday or online Monday afternoon, won't you?
