It's safe to say that a vast majority of shoppers no longer recoil when Christmas trees take root in department stores as early as October. We've grown inured to the sight of cobweb-shrouded skeletons rubbing shoulders with rosy-cheeked Santas. We may grumble about the way holidays bleed together, but it's not like there aren't benefits--I would buy candy corn and Cadbury eggs year-round if given the chance.

This just ain't right. Period. Even if they decide to make 'em black and gold and try to pass 'em off as Saints king cakes. It's STILL a king cake. 'Sides, they're in the playoffs. No problem with waiting a bit for that sort of treat - you can eat it AND cheer for the team at the same time. Who dat say dey gonna eat dat king cake early????
I couldn't agree with the commenter more. Part of what makes King Cakes special is the 6-8 week availability period. It's just wrong to have them out of season.
