The Alliance for Good Government, one of the most hotly sought endorsers in the New Orleans mayoral race, held their forum tonight at Loyola University with nine candidates present: Jonah Bascle, Manny 'Chevrolet' Bruno, Rob Couhig, John Georges, Troy Henry, Jerry Jacobs, Mitch Landrieu, James Perry and Nadine Ramsey.
The Alliance's mayoral endorsement went to Mitch Landrieu.
Previous endorsements by the Alliance's in the Feb. 6 race include several City Council races, including District B (Stacy Head), District C (Kristin Gisleson Palmer), District D (Cynthia Hedge-Morrell) and District E (Austin Badon).

to Steven , my cousin a police official in NEW Orleans for over 20 years and being a female! has gone way and beyond her call of duty, if YOU could surprise her from our family in wisconsin and california the words could not measure,we have lost alot of our family this past year and we all could not grieve together but feel the loss in our hearts! thank you Patti & B0B
This is disappointing. The AGG has endorsed Status Quo. Not surprising, but very disappointing.
"This is disappointing. The AGG has endorsed Status Quo. Not surprising, but very disappointing." that's because the AGG *is* the status quo.
Really, the status quo? In my mind, the status quo in New Orleans is defined by absolute incompetence, with those willing to dip the lowest and cater to the basest elements of the political process (i.e. Nagin playing the race card with reckless abandon last election). Landrieu losing again because the uptown whites are so a$$-backwards upstairs, holding a grudge against his father from 40 years ago, would be the status quo. Status quo would be somebody igniting fear within the African-American community of a white mayor, or relying solely on negative adds and mudslinging to get elected. You and I seem to have a different idea of the status quo.
The status quo is Landrieu. It's taking money over principle, like Mary did, ignoring the heartfelt convictions of her constituency. We are not all for sale. The Alliance for Good Government is purely Orwellian ... they are for the appalling stories of our past.
I feel like a Landrieu apologist now, but banker_belle what the hell are you talking about? Since Moon there has not been a single scandal associated with them, except if you want to mention the Voyager episode with Mary, which honestly I think was a stretch, at best. Even so, you're post still doesn't make sense because that dealt with the school system in D.C. And Mitch, like him or not, is a boy scout, everyone knows that. And not to pile on, but that Orwell mention doesn't make much sense either, I think you're trying a little too hard. Help me out here?
