Drew Brees: New Orleans' Rodney King

OK, so it's not exactly the same situation as early-90s Los Angeles, but if you haven't heard, New Orleans has had a bit of a crime problem following the Saints Super Bowl detente. It's been so bad that Drew Brees (who just flew back from a WAR ZONE) is fed up and has made a plea to New Orleanians to stop the violence.

Maybe Drew should have brought some of those toys he was playing with for the NOPD to use on these violent offenders. Or maybe this a problem that not even Breesus Maximus and his Saints army can solve. At the very least, though, we can be appreciative that New Orleans is home to a superstar athlete that doesn't just hide behind his wealth and ignores what ails his city.
