If you haven't seen this, you may have heard about it: A CBS News crew attempting to film the heavy oil on the beach at South Pass came across a boat full of BP contractors and a couple of Coast Guard members. The Coasties told the camera crew they'd be arrested if they didn't turn around, and added: "This is BP rules; it's not ours." This from the U.S. Coast Guard.
So: BP now has arrest powers in the Gulf? As the CBS reporter says: "We spoke to Coast Guard officials. They're looking into it."
