Rand Paul: Obama criticism of BP is "un-American"

Posted by Kevin Allman on Fri, May 21, 2010 at 2:08 PM

Rand Paul was on ABC's Good Morning America today. Take it away, Rand Paul:

The Kentucky Senate candidate also criticized the Obama administration's treatment of BP in the wake of the ongoing Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

What I don't like from the president's administration is this sort of, 'I'll put my boot heel on the throat of BP.' I think that sounds really un-American in his criticism of business. I've heard nothing from BP about not paying for the spill. And I think it's part of this sort of blame game society in the sense that it's always got to be someone's fault instead of the fact that sometimes accidents happen.

When does "personal responsibility" morph into "the blame game"?

When you or someone you support is being blamed, of course.

Un-American? Check out the Boston Tea Party for an example of our founding fathers rallying against corporate America. Corporate America is taking this country down in the same way the oligarchs to down post Soviet Russia

Boston Tea Party against corporate America?? Really? I think you have that confused with something else....either way, I think most are missing the point about what Rand Paul said. He's comparing the President's rhetoric to that of the Oil Companies...Mr. Obama is passing the buck just like BP, Transocean and Halliburton did in front of Congress! It's the Blame Game and it's sickening!!! The Federal Government is JUST AS GUILT as BP, Trans and HalliB. They turned a blind eye towards the companies cutting corners because they were getting paid off!

Rand Paul is basically panhandling for campaign contributions from Big Oil. His behavior is an extreme example of how our politics have been debased by money.
