Vitter's latest attack ad

Posted by Alex Woodward on Fri, Oct 8, 2010 at 11:47 AM

Republican Sen. David Vitter, taking a cue from Sharon Angle, introduced his latest ad ("Welcome Prize"), targeting democratic opponent Charlie Melancon on immigration. From Team Vitter:

I launched a new TV ad highlighting Charlie Melancon’s record of voting to make it easier for illegal immigrants to get taxpayer-funded benefits and welfare. Melancon even voted against allowing police to arrest illegal immigrants.

Thanks to Washington liberals like Charlie Melancon, we might as well put out a welcome sign at our borders.

I believe in a legal immigration process for those who want to pursue the American dream. But Charlie Melancon's votes making it easy for illegals to get taxpayer-funded benefits, highlighted in the ad, are offensive to me and many, many Louisianians.

I also strongly support Arizona’s new law that gets tough on illegal immigration. As the chairman and founder of the U.S. Senate Border Security and Enforcement First Caucus, I’ll continue to fight hard against any use of your tax dollars for welfare for illegals.

Here's the ad:

Aside from the ad's obvious race-baiting ("Dirty brown people are stealing from you, America!"), it's also, well, totally misleading, or backwards. Melancon voted against allowing illegal immigrants from owning or renting properties built from affordable housing funds, and the "welfare check" bit refers to this, which is designed so illegal immigrants don't receive the Earned Income Tax Credit — which was introduced by Republicans. As for the police, it's a non-issue. "Illegal immigration enforcer" isn't in their job description anyway.

And then there's this, from Team Melancon: "Illegal immigration is a threat to our communities and a burden on our local governments. We must do something to solve this problem," he said in a statement announcing his support of the Save America through Verification and Enforcement (SAVE) Act.

Melancon also voted in favor of a border fence and to make being in the U.S. illegally a felony. On immigration, Vitter and Melancon are, or should be, BFFs. So who, or what, is Vitter really after on this? Poking at his emotional homebase fearing job loss? Yes.

Nancy Pelosi's, Barbara Boxer culture of corruption

Majority Speaker Nancy Pelosi is most probably the worst offender, when it comes to hiring illegal aliens. Are they picking grapes on her plantations in the Napa Valley, California? As a hypocrite she beats even Senator Harry Reid, in his resolve to force through another Amnesty, on behalf of the estimated 12 to 20 million foreign illegal aliens. Then Pelosi resistance in any attempt to enhance border security, in building the--REAL--double fencing and plot with others to table the E-Verify offering. If mandated nationwide E-Verify would have been a inimitable prevention of businesses hiring people who have entered this sovereign nation illegally. Pelosi voted against the Secure Fence Act of 2006 in building a fence along the American-Mexican border, against requiring ID cards for illegal aliens, against electronic data storage of illegal aliens, and for driver’s licenses for illegal aliens. There are a few signs in the midterm elections, that not all candidates are supporting illegal immigrants. Tancredo is a strong contender to implement E-Verify permanently in Colorado so every foreign alien his risking being caught if identified at a job site. A Mandatory operation at every employment agency, would go a long way verifying all service type people, such as maids, homecare and other jobs. With 9.5 percentage of Americans looking for work, the use of E-Verify would disrupt many illegal workers, making room for hundreds of thousands of jobs in many industries. Meg Whitman would never had questions asked about the employment of an illegal maid, if the employment agency had investigated the women through the E-Verify program.

She is just one of the wealthy landowners who have taken advantage of a steady flow of cheap foreign laborers and a strict defender of offering a path to citizenship; considered Amnesty by a more moderate press. Madam Pelosi along with her husband own several vineyards assessed around $25 million dollars. Her grapes are not considered table grapes, but very expensive inventory of high end wines. Pelosi should join the rest of hypocrites in the long line of Democrats, including Sen. Reid, Sen. Barbara Boxer who if shown a careless positions in introducing laws to contain this propagating issue. Many low income Americans would have jobs, be able to pay taxes and help stabilize this recessive economy. GOOGLE---Pelosi's shameful record on spending taxpayer’s money is well deserved. The information can be found under the (FOIA) Freedom of Information Act at the "Judicial Watch" website regarding corruption in Washington and in State Capitols.

One of the biggest complaints was Speaker Pelosi’s military travel costs using jets of the United States Air Force in the amount of $2,100,744.59 over a two-year period — $101,429.14 of which was for in-flight expenses, including in food banquettes and alcohol. Then we have ultra liberal Barbara Boxer who has used the race card and has the same Motif-Operandi as Sen. Reid. Voting--YES--on funding Sanctuary Cities; Yes on Comprehensive Immigration Reform--Amnesty; Voted--NO--In declaring English official language of government; Voted--YES--on another Guest Worker program, that like the 1986 Immigration Control and Reform Act was offered Amnesty and in addition voted--YES--on illegal aliens participating in our Social Security, providing Social Services to non citizens. Please---Americans have worked all their lives in able to collect Social Security to keep them afloat for the rest of their lives and Boxer had the audacity to join the rest of the Liberal crowd to enact legislation, allowing foreigners who have never paid into the pool access to our Social Security? In my view as a Tea Party advocate--ALL these incumbents should be shown the road out of town tarred and feathered.

LOUISIANA CORRUPTION TITANIC

If David Vitter's campaign ads would more closely address and resemble the issues facing Louisiana, he would fare a whole lot better! SO MANY Louisiana problems exist; he could help voters ascertain what he intends to do about them!

Vitter's pattern of operation demonstrates that he favors the ELITE class of people --to the unfair and unjust disadvantage of others (probably including immigrants, and not all Blacks --as I feel sure he has his 'tokens'). And his patterns indicates that he thinks he has superior thinking skills to his audience by showing TV ads that talk about what Charle Melancon did or did not do for, or with President Obama. I don't give a flip about Vitter's OKEY DOKEY talk. I want to hear about ISSUES & CONDITIONS affecting every day / non-elite people.

It is aggravating to hear Vitter on television (Melancon, and others) continuing to talk about what is least significant in these crucial economic times! I could have better respect for Vitter if he had better respect for his listening audience and talked about Louisiana maladies since not everyone is interested in pleasuring him or her self, or going hunting, and other gratifying things while being worried about economic conditions.

I'm trying to give Vitter the benefit of the doubt since I against any politician who engineers judicial benches to become filled with inept and corrupt State as well as Federal judges; and who underhandedly influences appointments of U.S. attorneys!!! I am further against politicians who pleasure themselves with travel and life's finest while their fellow-citizens endure constant ravages of crime and corruption, with no end in sight; and while their cronies receive slaps on their wrists when their acts of corruption can NO LONGER be whitewashed.

Those are some of the issues for which Louisiana has needed answers for a very long time! I reiterate my longtime assertion about nearly every social controversy in Louisiana becoming ultimately linked to requiring judicial remedies and no other choice except face judges --for whom, being friends and giving the best gifts, doing favors, ensures good outcomes. And although there are many intelligent attorneys here, it does not require intelligence nor knowledge of the law, nor even submitting lawful grounds to become granted favorable rulings by certain judges.

Now is a good time for election candidates to be talking about solutions for the LOUISIANA CORRUPTION TITANIC rather than each other. What REALLY is wrong with Louisiana is inept and / or corrupt judicial and U.S. Attorney in positions, that were mainly orchestrated by political placement power! The justices’ abuses are EASILY PROVABLE by looking at Louisiana real estate / mortgage illegalities, and facilitating court judges.

Presently –from Judge Thomas Porteous’ impeachment trial, testimonies about the “Louisiana Way” of giving gifts (bribes) and doing ‘favors’ for judges– members of Congress have more than ample information which makes it silly to impeach Porteous and disregard Louisiana in-your-face lawlessness.

Foreclosure fraud has now been explained so clearly, even a child can understand that some people have indeed been illegally tossed from their homes, it will not be hard to detect the unlawful foreclosures that occurred here –especially the illegal foreclosure that unjustly caused people to be Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita exiled from their homes (but their neighbors erroneously blame them for blight).

In fact, a mere GLANCE at Louisiana fraudulent property transactions surrounding Freddie Mac, Wells Fargo, and certain foreclosure mills here –supplies additional reasons for Capitol Hill to probe Louisiana. **The current congress members who represent Louisiana have done zilch about decades of PRIMA FACIE foreclosure and mortgage fraud!

David Vitter, Charlie Melancon, and other candidates have the opportunity to show worthiness of people’s votes by talking about plans for addressing the LOUISIANA CORRUPTION TITANIC; it seems headed underwater with all of us on board.

Such detailed commentary precedes me. I can offer only this:

People who manipulate or manufacture fear in order to control others are evil. Pure evil.

Peace,

Melancon could take every image from this, and make it about prostitutes instead of illegal immigrants, and completely flip the script.

Now, THAT would be some hard-hitting politics.
