Touring in support of its first full-length release (Sex with an X, Sub Pop) since 1989's Dum-Dum, Glasgow indie pop duo The Vaselines stop at One Eyed Jacks (615 Toulouse St., 569-8361; www.oneeyedjacks.net) tonight at 10 p.m. Read Noah Bonaparte Pais' interview and show preview from this week's Gambit at bestofneworleans.com. You've heard these songs before — if not from the band itself then from Nirvana on Incesticide and MTV Unplugged in New York. I guess it's hard to avoid mentioning the band without mentioning Nirvana, but they left a massive impression on Kurt Cobain and co. — and, well, everyone knows what happens next.
