Winning by a hair

Posted by on Thu, Oct 28, 2010 at 2:37 PM

Recently, reality television scouts have descended on New Orleans, looking to give makeovers to fashion victims and ugly yards. Should we be offended? Perhaps, but it's hard to hold a grudge when the spoils are so sweet. Regan's Hair Salon recently experienced the benefits of a very public makeover (though in this Westbank salon's case, the makeover will not be reality-televised).

Regan's beat out hundreds of salons nationwide to win Redken's Ultimate Salon Makeover contest, snagging more than $50,000 worth of prizes, which includes a complete overhaul of its interior design and business model. Demolition on the old space began last week. Owner Jennifer Boutwell-Bustamante said in a press release that the win "couldn't have come at a better time."
