Posted by Kevin Allman on Tue, Nov 16, 2010 at 8:05 PM

Tonight WWL-TV debuted "Clancy's Commentary," a commentary by Gambit political editor Clancy DuBos that will air every Tuesday on the station's 6 pm news (and be repeated on the 9 pm broadcast on WUPL-TV).

This week's topic: If Gov. Bobby Jindal has the job he wants, why isn't he doing it?

Kudos to WWL-TV (my old alma mater) for airing the insights of arguably the most intellectual observer of New Orleans and Louisiana politics ever to come down the pike. Of course, I am biased; I knew, and worked with, Clancy when he was busy on an almost daily basis doing intensive research at Ruth's Chris Steak House while he was a political reporter at WDSU-TV. Lord only knows how many cows they killed for him during those days. I suspect Clancy knows that Democrats are conflicted over who they favor the Republicans nominating for President; Jindal, Rick Perry or Sarah Palin. And if you folks in Louisiana ever reach a point of tearing out your hair over the antics of your state's Chief Executive, glance west to your neighboring state of Texas. We've got you beaten, hands down.
