If you have to do some Christmas shopping, why not select your presents while listening to music that’s not the typical overplayed holiday tunes piped in over Muzak? New Orleans has lots of wonderful arts markets open in the city this weekend, including a new one in the Bywater.

The Fiesta Mercado is an indoor/outdoor affair at the Old Ironworks at 612 Piety St. It’s open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 18) and is sponsored by the New Orleans Musicians Clinic and Old New Orleans Rum. It features more than 40 vendors offering art, crafts, vintage items and a flea market.

Kids can make a gingerbread house while parents shop, and everyone can dance to Los Ritos de Swing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Mas Marones from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
