Food co-op throwdown

- New Orleans Food Co-Op
Work continues to open the New Orleans Food Co-Op store in the Faubourg Marigny (pictured in the rendering above). Meanwhile, the nonprofit behind the project is holding a public party this Saturday, Jan. 29, to raise money for the work and to raise awareness of its healthy groceries mission.
Called the Tasty Ball, the event begins at 7 p.m. in the Carl Mack Presents events space at 535 Marigny St. Performers scheduled for the evening include Chuck Perkins, Linnzi Zaorski, Sean Johnson, Victoria Baker, Michael Wilder and Patrick Godbey. Food and drinks will be available for sale. Admission is free and donations are accepted.
Costumes are encouraged, especially produce-related costumes.
Check the Co-Op’s site for updates on the store project, and get to work on that Fruit of the Loom costume.
