Oscar-nominated animated and live action short films

Posted by on Wed, Feb 9, 2011 at 6:06 PM

The Oscar-nominated animated short films for 2011 are a whimsical bunch, particularly The Gruffalo (trailer above), featuring the voices of Helena Bonham Carter, John Hurt and others. The New Orleans Film Society hosts a screening of two separate showcases on Friday: 6 p.m. for animated short films, 8 p.m. for live action shorts. Other animated shorts include Pixar's Day & Night, Let's Pollute, The Lost Thing and Madagascar, Carnet de Voyage. More trailers after the jump. The Friday screenings are sponsored by the New Orleans Film Society. The two showcases continue at the Prytania for one week.
