WWL-TV's free Mardi Gras app

One of the biggest advantages to having a smartphone at this time of year is the ability to have a Mardi Gras guide in your pocket at all times. Our pals at WWL-TV have come up with a great one — great because it's so simple. It's got all major parade schedules, zoomable route maps and Carnival videos ... and when the parades get rolling, it will also have live tracking so you won't be stuck at a corner wondering where the breakdown is.

Also available for Android. Looks pretty good except that I notice only a select number of parades are scheduled for live tracking. For the past two years WDSU has been tracking and tweeting updates on all Orleans Parish parades.
