Time lapse of Rebirth/Papa Grows Funk concert

Posted By on Fri, Mar 11, 2011 at 10:53 AM

Consider this an addendum to Gambit's "Free Music Friday." This past Saturday before Mardi Gras we had the distinct honor and pleasure of filming a live performance by the Rebirth Brass Band for the second time in two weeks (the first was at the Maple Leaf) for our documentary Brass Roots (don't forget to check out our production blog!)

Above is a time lapse we shot of the event over the course of five hours. It features the Papa Grows Funk show (including, at the 1:00 mark, Conan O'Brien's fan correspondent taking pictures with the band) and the Rebirth show with the last picture taken after 4 a.m.

The music in the video is of Rebirth's live performance that night of "Why Your Feet Hurt" off of their new album, "Rebirth of New Orleans".

Enjoy!
